A dispatch occurs whenever SkyPilot submits a job to a cloud provider instance. Spot migration counts as a new dispatch, as do re-runs. The Pilot tier's 10-dispatch limit resets on the first of each calendar month.

Yes. Paid plans are month-to-month with no minimum commitment. Cancel in account settings, with service continuing through the current billing period. There are no cancellation fees.

SkyPilot uses an IAM role with minimal permissions to read pricing APIs, launch instances, and write to your designated checkpoint bucket. Credentials are encrypted at rest. Your IAM configuration controls the scope. No root or administrative access is needed.

If SkyPilot detects an imminent spot interruption or chooses a cheaper zone, it triggers a checkpoint through your training framework's native hooks. After confirmation, the current instance is released and a new one is provisioned. The job resumes automatically from the checkpoint. Downtime is typically 3-8 minutes, depending on checkpoint size.

SkyPilot supports AWS p3, p4, and p5 series; GCP a2 and a3 with A100/H100; and Azure NC and NDv4 series. Lambda Labs A10 and A100 instances are supported on Scale and Enterprise tiers. New families are added as they reach general availability on each provider.
